One final down, one to go, along with a big bad research paper--both due on Thursday. Thanksgiving in Philadelphia was great, including the trip to Atlantic City which paid for my plane ticket. Of course, those of you who are up on my plans know I'll be back eating cheesesteaks and pretzels in the city of brotherly love on Sunday.

Back from my first official visit/interview with a b-school. I think it went fine, but there's room for improvement. The school looks exciting, and I'll be waiting anxiously to see if I get in!

In a haze of essay writing last week, I committed an act of music gluttony at a level previously foreign to me. Today I reaped the benefits. 7 CDs arrived from spun.com. That's not particularly noteworthy--it's happened before. But 5 of them are by the Velvet Underground, effectively replacing their greatest hits CD in my collection with the bulk of their studio recording work. I revel in the sheer magnitude of it all.

Best combination of albums to listen to as your mind goes to mush. First, put on GYBE!, Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!. This sets you up for the kill, which is delivered by Self's, Gizmodgery. Every stupid lyric and every snare hit on the Animal Muppet's drumset are being imprinted on my brain. Trunk fulla amps mother*, indeed!

Essays progressing. First application will be done on time, at some permanent cost to my sanity.
