slow-dog.entry19.01.2002: "mom's birthday"

[Previous entry: "U S A"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "milk and the A-Team"]

Tonight, had a fantastic meal at Biba's to celebrate my mom's *mumble mumble* birthday. Then, on the way out, someone told us that the Olympic torch was coming by in five minutes. What timing! I can support these Olympics, because the events will be shown live during hours I will actually be watching TV, unlike 1998 in Nagano or 2000 in Sydney (silly rest of the world).

In other news, I must thank my friend Christy for introducing me to Trading Spaces, my new favorite TV show. I never thought I'd like interior design and decoration until I found out it could make someone cry.

Ahhhh........so I get credit for introducing you to the world of wacky fabric swatches and weird "craft projects"? I take the credit and consider it an honor. My roommate has been subjected to soooooo many episodes of the show that she had a dream last night that I redecorated her room on an $800 budget. However, I somehow managed to place/purchase a jukebox, a self-playing piano, a sewing machine, and a Nordic track into her new boudoir. Apparently, my design philosophy is Flea Market Fantasy.

"Flea Market Fantasy"--you could make a million dollars with that!
