slow-dog.entry04.06.2002: "music: tracklists"

[Previous entry: "web pimp: nick's mouth project"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "misc: ireland"]

When artists are putting out new albums, there's always news bits in music rags about releasing tracklists. Am I alone in thinking this is totally worthless? Do people really read the tracklist and say, "Oooohhh! Song #3 is entitled Cadaver Roadblock. I bet that's a good one."? No, of course they don't, yet this stupid practice continues.

Don't know if you actually care, but I think it's for the fans of the band who know all the unreleased songs. For example, I'll check Radiohead's next tracklist for "Lift" or "Follow Me Around".

Fair enough. That occurred to me, I just didn't think it was so common to warrant the widespread attention given to tracklists. I guess I must be mistaken.
