Two definitions in need of words to define:
1. The act of checking a realtime newsource (CNN, drudgereport.com) solely to see if anything catastrophic has happened in the world since you last checked.
2. The act of, upon the first perusal of someone's CD collection, calculating how much store credit could be obtained by selling all the crap to your favorite used CD store.
Anybody have any ideas?

Ooo ooo! New word to define:
3. The act of going to check a website, but then realizing that you've been through all your bookmarks very recently and you *know* nothing has changed, and *still* checking the website anyhow.
Crackmark?
