Do I talk funny? Do I have a strange accent? I know that I have a tendency to take on accents of people I'm talking to, but has it cemented into something permanent? Today, someone I spoke to on the phone asked if I was Canadian, because of "the way I clip some words." Of course she's Aussie, so maybe when the Aussie sneaks into my voice, it comes out Canadian. Really, I want to know.

Allegedly, people show up here regularly to see content. It's hard for me to tell. I use this page as my homepage, as it has all the handy links I use every day, and like some obsessive compulsive, I hit the home button so often, you'd think it was hooked up to my morphine IV drip. So my stats are all skewed, and I don't check them regularly. I may have scads of stalkers who use this site to gather clues about my life and then follow me around, but you folks do a fine job of keeping out of sight, and I commend you for that.

So here's something to chew on, to ponder over, to use to try and form the complete the picture of my mind, so that one day you may steal my identity. The last three songs I listened to:

There you go.

I am not dead yet. I am, waiting for an official new job offer to go along with the new job. I am also, considering a trip to McDonald's, and trying to get over a cold.

To celebrate the new job, I broke down and bought a new mouse. Well, actually, I'd been trying to buy one for a month or two now, and thought that most of them out there sucked. This one, I wasn't sure of, but now that I've test driven it for a few hours, I think we're going to have a beautiful relationship. It's more than anyone should pay for a mouse, but I was sick of waiting around for the perfect mouse to be invented and priced at $15, so in order that I could stop going to Best Buy and Staples every week to see if that had happened, I paid the exorbitant cost, and lucked out. There's like a zillion buttons on this thing, and they're in all the right places.

Well, apparently, I have a new job. It involves some additional responsibility and stress, and the chance to go visit Canada in the dead of winter (boy was that fun). So far, though, it looks like it might turn out OK. Of course, I won't be able to jettison all of my previous distasteful work, but I'll be able to get rid of some of it, which is a good thing. Next week: New Mexico!
